Autumn Yoga Retreat in Rural Wales

Restore, Release and Rest

15 – 18th October 2021

You are invited to leave it all behind and come and join me for a long weekend retreat in the unspoiled natural beauty of autumnal rural Wales. You will find the perfect balance of yoga and free time, fresh air, nature walks, evening by a camp fire, wild swimming, sauna, healthy nourishing food and time to snooze, read, get a massage or just be by yourself or in the company of other like minded people. Give yourself the chance to deepen your practice, restore your energy, release stress and tension and heal your body and mind through deep rest in a supportive, held environment.

The retreat will be small and intimate, in a group of 12 people.  (Unless Covid restrictions are lifted, in which case there will be few more spaces). All Covid-19 safety guidelines are followed and are kept under review.

We will be staying in a lovely venue which has the perfect combination of beautiful location, great facilities, and accessibility.

Only around 3.5 hours from London by road or train, yet a world away, deep in rural Wales, the venue is set amidst the rolling hills surrounding the historic and pretty town of Llanidloes, a place time seems to have forgotten, picturesque and sleepy, with lots of characterful small independent shops and a historic half-timbered market houses.

Yoga

With 10 hours of yoga over the weekend, you will have a chance to immerse yourself into your practice. The morning sessions will be dynamic and energising and will include breath work, meditation, mobilisation, flowing sequences and longer held postures with options for every ability.

The evening sessions will be slower and more restorative with longer held postures and somatic movements, guided relaxations or Yoga Nidra and will leave you feeling rested and relaxed, ready for a peaceful night’s sleep.

There will be a welcome class on Friday night. On Saturday and Sunday you will get two 2 hr long sessions and finally a farewell 1 hour class on Monday morning before breakfast and departures.

The Venue

Just a couple of miles from the town, the venue is in two beautiful barn conversions, adjacent to the traditional farmhouse. The heating is from renewable biomass and drinking water is from the farm’s own pure spring water source. The barns surround the old farmyard, now a lovely space with gardens, a stream, and an outdoor dining area for those warmer days. Underfloor heating and log burners also ensure the barns are always super-cosy. There is also a gym and sauna, useable subject to restrictions, and handy drying racks and a laundry.

In the fields below the barns there is a swimming and boating pond, plus a campfire area with log seating. The venue is set on 200 acres of farmland with extensive views and plenty of walks in the hills and valleys right from the doorstep on the long- distance Glyndwr Way. Maps are provided or some walks can be led. Beautiful Llyn Clywedog reservoir is a just a short drive away.

The comfortable accommodation is finished to a high standard with all rooms en-suite, available as shared twin/double or single.

The yoga room is large, airy and spacious, with a wooden floor, and like the rest of the accommodation, benefits from warm under floor heating, fired by the eco-biomass boiler. Yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, belts and blankets are provided, but because of Covid, you are advised to bring your own props, if you have them.

Food

You will get three delicious, vegetarian meals a day. All food is freshly prepared with plenty of vegetables, salads, soups, and a large healthy breakfast with a choice of fresh fruit, muesli, yogurt, eggs, porridge, pancakes etc. Teas, coffee, biscuits and fruit are freely available throughout the day. The diet is healthy, balanced and varied, served buffet style so you can select from a choice.  Gluten, lactose free options, and vegan diet can be provided but unfortunately any personal preferences or complicated specialist diets can not. Please specify at the time of booking any food allergies.
