Yoga and the 5 Elements for Radiant Health

Yoga and the 5 Elements Workshop Series

Join me on a journey through the seasons of a full year cycle, where we blend yoga with the wisdom of the Five Elements. Explore simple practices to align with nature's rhythms and adapt your daily routine to each season for vibrant health from within.

Discover the unique qualities of each season, including its associated element, meridian, yin organ, emotion, strengths, and vulnerabilities. Learn how our yoga practice can help to open meridians, release blockages, enhance energy flow, and support organ function.

Rooted in ancient Chinese philosophy, the Five Elements model stems from a deep reverence for nature and its cycles. This worldview emphasises living in harmony with seasonal changes rather than resisting them.

I'm thrilled to share my passion for this holistic approach, merging Yoga and Somatic Movement with the timeless wisdom of the Five Elements. This philosophy remains relevant in our modern world, especially amidst the challenges to our mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Join me as we explore this ancient yet ever-relevant path to a balanced life.

"The principle of the interaction of the four seasons and of Yin and Yang is the foundation of everything in the Universe.

Thus sages nurture their Yang in the Spring and Summer and Yin in the Autumn and Winter in order to follow the rule of rules;

Therefore, unified with everything in creation, sages maintain themselves continuously at the gate of life."

~ Inner Classic

What to expect

In this series of 5 workshops, we'll embark on a journey through the seasons, starting with the birth and growth of spring, then moving through the exuberance of summer, the balance of late summer and harvest season, the decline of autumn, and finally, the stillness of winter.

Throughout the year, as we attune ourselves to each seasonal change, we gain profound insights into our health and the balance of elements within us. Even before the weather shifts, we may sense the subtle vibrations of the upcoming season through changes in our body and mind like increased aches, anxiety, or different cravings.

Each workshop will include

  • Overview of the upcoming season, focusing on the element, meridian, organ, and associated emotion
  • Self-massage and acupressure techniques
  • Somatic movement practices
  • Yin and Yang yoga postures
  • Guided visualisations
  • Meditation sessions
  • Breath-work exercises
  • Handouts with valuable information
  • Journal prompts for self-reflexion
  • Diet and lifestyle suggestions tailored to each season

Join us as we dive deep into the wisdom of the seasons, nurturing our bodies, minds, and spirits along the way.

"Wood is its beginning, its bud. Fire is its growth towards maturity, its blossom. Earth is its fruition, its harvest. Metal is the trace element extracted from this harvest. Water is its moment of rest, as the new seed germinates."
