Yoga and Mala Making Workshop

With Katya and Shalena

Saturday 11th September 2021 - 9:30 – 14:00 - £45

I’m really excited about this workshop. I’m teaming up with the lovely Shalena Turner who’s been creating beautiful malas for herself and to share with others and has found the process to be incredibly immersive, calming and therapeutic. We both share a passion for yoga, meditation, reiki and crystals.

We’ll start the day with a creative gentle flow, lead by me, threading a garland of yoga poses onto the breath. Balancing pranayama will clear the senses and calm the mind, and heart opening meditation will help you tune in, before choosing your beads.

After a break for tea, coffee and homemade cake, Shalena will teach you step by step how to make your own mala. There is a significance to all aspects of the mala, from the knotting, the auspicious number of beads, guru bead and tassel, all of which will be explained!

Apart from being such beautiful necklaces to wear, malas have been used for thousands of years by various religions and spiritual seekers, as a meditational tool to help keep the mind focused and for counting as you repeat a mantra, affirmation (either out loud or in your head) or to direct a specific intention.

You will go home feeling peaceful, calm and centred, wearing your beautiful creation with an understanding off how to use it.

All are welcome, no experience necessary. Come and get creative. Payment in full will secure your place. It is non-refundable, but can be transferred to another workshop.
